Newtown Nursery School SEND
SEND Coordinator – Tara Entwistle (Headteacher)
Newtown Nursery School comply with the Code of Practice (2014) in which the Department for Education explains the duties and responsibilities of providers of early years education who deal with children and young people with special educational needs and disability (SEND) and their families.
Each child is carefully monitored and individual learning plans are put in place to ensure that they are making progress and thriving within our nursery.
Our experienced staff will sensitively alert parents to any concerns they may have about a child’s development, and our SEND Coordinator will ensure that the right help is sought at the right time.
The Lancashire SEND Partnership was formed in 2018, following a joint inspection of special educational needs and disability (SEND) services in our local area by Ofsted and the Care Quality Commission (CQC). The partnership brings together representatives from all agencies in Lancashire that provide SEND services for children, young people, their parents and carers.
One of the priorities for the SEND Partnership was to review Lancashire’s SEND Local Offer, which is the information, advice, support and services available across Lancashire, for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities.
Following an extensive review, work has been carried out over the last six months to revise the Local Offer website, which provides a central access point to this information. You can find the revised SEND Local Offer website at www.lancashire.gov.uk/SEND
